‍ ♦️After shoveling piles of snow off the pavement and throwing layers of jackets over our shoulders, we wait anxiously for the arrival of spring. Spring in Mashhad not only offers an escape from the freezing weather and gloomy days but provides the chance for rebirth. As the tulips begin to bloom and the sun begins to break through the clouds, we close the door to our ending year and look forward to the opportunities ahead.

♦️Reuniting with close relatives, cooking Sabzi polo with fish over the stove, and putting our haft-sin on the table, we experience the nostalgic feeling of our traditions and childhood. Nowrooz is not only a holiday but a sense of community warmth and gratitude. The streets are filled with excitement in the air as you are greeted with smiling faces and open arms. The city no longer is divided but united through these momentous days that come once a year but create everlasting memories.
